The nurse's role in the education of patients on surgical ward

The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis defines the role of a nurse-educator, the education reality consisting of the educational process, constructs, and the environment, it also concentrates on more particular introduction of the individual education topics in the pre-surgery and the post-surgery periods on a surgical ward. Four research goals were set in the empiric part of the thesis. The goals of the thesis were to find out in what ways nurses educated patients in the pre-surgery and the post-surgery periods. Further goals were to map the educational needs of patients before and after the surgery. The qualitative research form and the technique of semi-structured interviews conducted with nurses from a surgery department and patients before and after a planned surgery were chosen for the implementation of a significant part of the thesis. The criterion for the selection of respondents was that they should be patients of a surgery department with planned hospitalization longer than 2 days. The same patients were also interviewed during the post-operation period. The criterion for the selection of the nurses-respondents was that they had really worked at the standard ward of a surgery department for more than 3 months. The research sample set consisted of 9 nurses and 5 patients. Final categories and subcategories were defined based on the analyses of the carried our interviews. Educational material was prepared based on the research carried out with the patients and the nurses as the outcome from this bachelor thesis. The material was prepared in a form that enables its availability for a patient for the whole time of hospitalization. The use of the educational material can support the patient education on the surgical ward.
The use of literary education in pedagogy of leisure time

The thesis deals with possibilities of using literary text under the pedagogy of leisure time when mainly working with children in the elementary school. The theoretical part deals with key concepts of the research particularly in literary education, literary text, choice of text and literary education in leisure time. This part presents also the suitable methodical procedures when working with literary text in the school environment and leisure time activities focused on achieving esthetical experiences and development of key competencies. The practical part includes characteristics of chosen standard and activating educational methods. These methods represent the practical side of specific examples of children's and youth literature. The other part of thesis is also anthology of literary works, which can be used by leisure time teachers in educational process.
The Implementation of Reading Workshop at the Primary School

This thesis deals with the inclusion of the reading workshop methods in the primary schools and its application to the lessons of the Czech language and literature. The main aim of the theoretical part is to define key concepts connected with the topic. It describes the definitions of the reading workshop, the reading literacy and the description of "The formal notice no. 56", which has been focused on the support of the development of reading in the Czech schools. In this part the particular educational methods, which are focused on the development of reading, and the Czech and international researches are characterized. The practical part of the thesis, using the qualitative surveys, appraises the preparation and the realization of the project "The formal notice no. 56" at the particular primary school. There were realized the interviews with the educators and the head master. The assets and negative features of the reading workshop were followed by those dialogues. According to the direct observation of the methods during the lessons of the Czech language and literature, there were recorded the reactions of pupils to the reading and working with a text. In the practical part there are also the characteristics of the materials which were created under the project in the school. The purpose of these researches is to find out how the teachers as well as the schoolchildren react to the method and if it brought to the classes any new elements and if it could be still the part of education in the future.
Church Education of the Adults

This work is focused on the personality of an adult man, possibility of his further education in religious area. The personality is described from these points of view: psychological, social and pedagogical with the consideration to its religious extent which this work wants to develop. The effort is to create three-year cycle of topics for each meeting. These topics should be suggestion to the other discussion and confrontation with single opinions from personal practice, etics, theology, sociology, psychology, philosophy and pedagogy. The biggest ambition of this work is the effort to help to create lively communities of Christians which can give a vivid picture of the Kingdom of God on the Earth.
